Sol Butcher is a uncommon enemy type encountered in The Bright Pass level of the Solar Solstice episode.
Appearance[ | ]
Sol Butcher is a large entity that wears purple twisted bulky armor with aquamarine stripes, pointy shoulder pad and helmet with a glowing face. He carries a distorted giant broadsword with one serrated blade.
Behavior[ | ]
Due to his unnatural light embracing gluttony, Sun Executioner is a slow guy who doesn't go into close combat, but his attacks are dangerous:
- Melee. When close, Solar Meatman will kick the player far away from him with his mighty foot.
- Ranged. Star Slayer swings his sword 360° that fires a wide purple energy slash at the player's direction.
Tactics[ | ]
Unlike Giant Protectors from before, Butchers don't have weaknesses, so it will take a while for you to take them down, not to mention the fact that they are never alone. Their ranged attacks windup is slow and the projectile isn't hard to avoid at long range, especially since they appear mostly in open spaces, but it takes a good portion of health on hit and flies far. A good option would be to utilize Celestial Claw or Star of Torment against them.

- Sol Butcher is the only sun worshipper who doesn't have counterparts in Astral Equinox.
- Butcher's attack resembles Whisper's Edge soul-powered energy slash, but without bouncing off surfaces.
